Snow Cream Recipe

by kathy on January 17, 2013

Well, here in the south they are calling for snow and schools are already in the process of being dismissed early. Go ahead and laugh you Northerners :) My husband took the big suv to work this morning and I’m scoping out sleds and snow cream. I have lots of friends up North and they are quick to tell me how silly we all are.

This will be the first snow that my youngest has experienced and the first that my oldest remembers since the last snow she was so little.

I thought to make it extra special, we would make snow cream pending the arrival of snow of course!

Snow Cream Recipe:

12 cups snow
Sweetened Condensed Milk, 14 oz can
2 t Vanilla Extract

Mix together well and serve like ice cream.  This can be eaten immediately or frozen for a firmer consistency.

There are other versions of Snow Cream that do not call for sweetened condensed milk but instead cream and sugar. You can substitute the ingredients to suit your families taste.

So lets hope we get some snow or my kids will be very disappointed.
